On Saturday 13th April, Active Summer Camps invite you down to Ridgeway Sport & Social Club for a fun filled charity activity day for all the family. Our Family Fun Day will incorporate a whole range of activities, both sporting and non sporting, meaning there is something for every member of the family to get involved with. Alongside these activities, live entertainment and food and drink options are taking place throughout the day.
Read on below for a full explanation of the activities you can expect to see on the day!
Cricket
12pm - 5pm
Cricket is another activity that we have available on the day. This activity will be based around teaching children the basics of the sport through fun games and activities, rather than playing a full blown match! Expect to see your batting and bowling skills reach new levels.
Mini Golf
12pm - 5pm
Expected to be one of our most popular activities on the day, we have mini golf! This is certainly one for all members of the family to get involved with. Our 9 hole mini golf course will test your putting and accuracy, with scorecards provided to challenge your friends. Our chipping competition will also run alongside this, testing your chipping skills. We can’t wait to see you all out on the green!
Football
12pm - 5pm
Ever wanted to improve your Football related skills, or just give it a go in a fun and inclusive environment? There's something for everyone in our Football activity, no matter your skill level. Games and drills will test and improve your passing, shooting and dribbling skills. Make sure to give this a go on the day, and with specialist staff leading the activity, why wouldn’t you?!
Races
12pm - 5pm
A school sports day classic, our next activity is the good old fashioned egg & spoon and three-legged races. Race against your family and friends or other challengers on the day to see who can get the fastest time!
Arts & Crafts
12pm - 5pm
While a lot of our activities involve running around and being active, why not take a rest and get creative at our arts & crafts stall? As Easter is only just around the corner, here you will be able to create your ideal Easter card to give to whoever you want, or even get creative with egg painting! We hope to see you all getting crafty on the day.
Family Circus Games
12pm - 5pm
Another one that might be something different to what you’ve tried before, our next activity is family circus games! Our children’s parachute is an all time favourite and will certainly engage younger children throughout the day. We’ve also got bean bag and hula hoop games that will be fun for all ages, so make sure to check this activity out on the day!
Tennis
12pm - 5pm
Tennis is our next activity available on the day. We have courts available to use so this is the perfect opportunity to give it a go if you’ve not played before, or to improve your skills if you already know your way around the court! Fun games and activities will give you a brilliant chance to improve your swing and footwork, and we can’t wait to see you all getting involved with this on the day.
Dance
12pm, 1pm, 3pm and 4pm
Stepz Dance Academy will be joining us on the day to provide dance workshops for everyone, no matter what your ability is. This activity will run on the hour at 12pm, 1pm, 3pm and 4pm, so make sure to be there at one of these times to enjoy this activity. Stepz will also be providing a performance at 2pm if you would like to see what they’re all about.
Additional extras
Table Tennis
We will have two Table Tennis tables set up for use throughout the day. This isn’t a staff led activity, but why not get involved and play for fun with friends and family?
Tombola
Our tombola stall is a brilliant chance to win a whole range of different prizes throughout the day. With prizes available from local restaurants and pubs, activity centres such as bowling or adventure golf, and both Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, why not give it a try?
Face Painting
Our friends from Arty Sparkles will be set up on the day to provide face painting for a small fee. We know the children will love this one!
Treasure Hunt
Without wanting to give too much away before the big day, we will be running a treasure hunt that’s available for all the children to take part in throughout the day. Anyone wishing to take part will be provided with a treasure map on entry. We can’t wait to see you all getting involved with this one!
